Did you know Mother’s Day goes back to Ancient Greeks, who celebrated Rhea, the mother of the gods. Early Christians celebrated the mother of Christ and later on it was changed to include all mothers, and named Mothering Sunday. Mother’s Day as we know it began in 1907 when Anna Jarvis, a Philadelphia school teacher, started a movement to honour mothers. It was proclaimed a national holiday in 1914 by President Woodrow Wilson.
